The Making of "It Was A Holy Night" Part 2

By the end of June/beginning of July, we had some great ideas down for songs for our EP. In the middles of July we had several scratch tracks down (recorded tracks of ideas for songs). We were ready to start rolling on recording and writing so we could release the Christmas EP by October 2017.

On July 26th, 2017 everything changed. I (Brianne) was headed home from work on my way to meet a coworker at a coffee shop, when i was in a near fatal car accident. Our world changed, for what we thought would be forever. I suffered form a severe concussion and because of extreme vertigo I had difficulty walking normally. I was unable to talk normally, had some minor personality changes, had long lasting migraines, was unable to read, and had memory loss with difficulty with short term and long-term memory. Because of severe dizziness I was unable to sit or stand normally, so singing and recording was nearly impossible. I suffered from cognitive delays, which made singing on its own difficult, and learning or thinking of new things was nearly impossible. Most of these symptoms lasted for several months and I still have of some of them even now in August of 2018, but am becoming increasingly better.

This part of our story may seem sad, dark, but to us it is part of our story, our testimony, our journey, as we do what the Lord has for us. We feel that major or minor set backs or trials, are our confirmation that we are doing God's will. The Enemy tries to discourage us, frustrate us, and stop us when we are doing God's will in our lives. When we do God's will, God will be glorified, honored and praised, and of course the Enemy doesn't want that! So when we have set backs we try to focus on the confirmation that we are doing what God has for us. And we had a lot of set backs with this Christmas EP, so we know that we were/are in God's will by recording it! This EP is all for His Glory so that He may be exalted and worshipped.

"Consider it pure joy, my brother, when you encounter trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of our faith produces perseverance." James 1:2-3
